„Podróż to wielce pożyteczna rzecz, bo dzięki niej uruchamiamy wyobraźnię. Cała reszta to jedynie rozczarowania i znużenie. Nasza podróż jest podróżą całkowicie fikcyjną. I w tym tkwi właśnie jej siła.
Biegnie ona od życia aż po śmierć. Ludzie, zwierzęta, miasta i przedmioty, wszystko zostało w niej wymyślone. To jest tylko powieść, nic więcej jak tylko fikcyjna historia.
Każdy zresztą może zrobić to samo. Wystarczy zamknąć oczy.
I tam właśnie jesteśmy, po drugiej stronie życia”.
